Cut Turbo
Problem with VW TD Injection Passat… turbo cutting out and not working..!?!?
Hi,
My parents are in France at the moment, they drove over. However, since they have been there the turbo diesel “turbo thing” is no longer working properly on the car. It is cutting out and not working all the time when it should be.
Does anyone know how this could be fixed (for the short term etc) until my parents can bring the car back to the UK to be looked at?!
Really appreciate any advice on this so I can pass it on to them… Thanks 
Depending on the year…TDI’s have a problem with the intake plenuim getting clogged with carbon deposit, find a diesel fuel additive if possible to keep it clear. Mass airflow sensors have been a common problem in 200-2004’s so that could be an option also. Has the timming belt been relpaced? its a possibility that the diesel pump is off time…there are a lot of variables so seeing a VW technician is critical because these parts are pricy…Good Luck
